In choosing what to base my documentary on, I have to consider many factors, including:
What information do I want my audience to take away from my documentary?
Should I leave them with a rhetorical question to think about?
Is there anything I want to change in the way people see food/consumption (or water)?
Who is my target audience?
While researching into a potential subject can be difficult, breaking down the main basic points of consideration will help me decide if any idea of mine is good or not.
I decided my first step should be to create a mind map of all random associations and subjects that could relate to the theme, which I can then develop on to see if it's a suitable idea.
